Draw odds of successfully
being drawn, for many of these coveted Permits, range from 1 in 15 to as
high as 1 in thousands. That combined with the new policy of (Hunt After Continuous Hunt
Equation) -
(September though December) that the Arizona Game & Fish has now
implemented, you will need to do your homework, conduct your due diligence,
get in shape, become qualified and proficient with your weapon, pre-scout

GUIDES: Gary "Goose" Howell has over 25 plus years of guiding & outfitting experience
throughout Arizona. He has established a Network of Qualified Professional
Top Grade Guides, that "Goose" has personally supervised, worked with, and
trained within our professional guide team.
Many of our Trophy Class guided elk hunt
packages are offered as a (2X1) two hunters to one guide and offer a great
buddy / family hunting opportunity.
Our
World Class Hunts have a guide ratio of 1 hunter for 1 guide
(1x1) and / or 1 hunter with 2 guides (1 X 2) with extra hunting and
scouting days, thus optimizing your opportunity to harvest
the very best trophy within your hunt unit and hunting season.
Depending on the hunt package
- you choose -
HWO offers... you the opportunity to be "IN CAMP PRE-SCOUTING
and getting familiar with your hunt area, a day before your hunt start
date.
HWO is a Licensed,
Insured and a United States Forest Service Permitted / Registered Outfitter.
Always has been and always will be!
All HWO guides are Qualified
Arizona Licensed Professionals, trained in CPR and First Aid. They are experienced
and knowledgeable with your hunt unit and the Trophy Elk that reside there.
Goose and your guide will pre-scout your
hunt unit prior to your
arrival, to locate and pattern the very best trophies available within your
unit. NOTE...we also make it
available for you to participate in Pre-Scouting with your guide. Goose's
policy of letting you personally contact your guide, prior to your hunt, is
another way to assist you in feeling confident with our HWO team, your hunts
actual logistics, and your guides actual Elk Hunting qualifications!
ACCOMMODATIONS: On
our Fully Guided & Outfitted Hunt Packages...
First class comfortable accommodations are a priority with us. These will
include either heated wall tents, heated travel trailers, hunting lodges, cabins,
homes and / or hotels for
your sleeping quarters. (Depending on your hunt location, your personal
preferences and proximity to the hunting area logistics.)
MEALS: On our Fully
Guided & Outfitted Hunt Packages...
Our camp cooks pride themselves on preparing home cooked favorites. You will
always have plenty to eat, and they will make sure that your dietary needs are
taken care of.
(We will address your hunts planned meals 'prior to your hunt start date' and work within your dietary needs, preferences, likes and dislikes.)
Bottled water, soft drinks and snacks will also be provided.
(ALCOHOL IS NOT
PROVIDED) Which you may provide for yourself.
TROPHY CARE: On our
Fully Guided & Outfitted Hunt Packages and / or Guide Only Hunt Packages:
Your guide will skin and cape your trophy for you. We can recommend and
assist with local professional services and assist with the
arrangements for local expert taxidermy. You may also have your guide field prepare your trophy
so that "you" may personally transport it to the taxidermist of your choice.
MEAT CARE: On our
Fully Guided & Outfitted Hunt Packages and / or Guide Only Hunt Packages:
Upon harvesting your trophy, it will be skinned and field prepared for cold
storage / processing. We can again recommend and assist with local professional
services that are available locally. You may also have your guide field prepare your trophy
so that "you" may personally transport it to the processor of your choice.
TRANSPORTATION: On
our Fully Guided & Outfitted Hunt Packages and / or Guide Only Hunt
Packages: Four-wheel drive vehicles
and / or sometimes four wheelers will be provided
throughout your hunt, from the pre-arranged and agreed upon hunt meeting
pick up location.
GRATUITIES: We all
understand that gratuities are strictly at the hunter’s discretion, however,
our professional Guides and Cooks alike work very hard to ensure your hunt
is safe, enjoyable, successful as well as unforgettable. The entire HWO team appreciates
receiving a gratuity, especially if you feel they have done an excellent job. Tips
generally average between 10% to 15% of the booked hunt price for guides
(per hunter) and average $100 for cooks per
hunter.
Goose limits the number of
clients that we take Arizona Trophy / World Class Elk Hunting, so that we may provide the
professional attention that will make your hunt safe, successful, enjoyable
and special. Please book early, as availability is limited and Goose's Top
Guides are booked out and reserved quickly.
A 50% deposit is required to reserve your hunt.
With the remaining hunt balance due 30 days before your hunt start date.
