Howell Wildlife Outfitters are superb! They do  the right actions correctly.
I use Goose for my draw applications and  have booked several trips with him. I have always come back from an adventure  a better hunter and have several trophies to remind me of each trip. They  scout, know the terrain, experienced guides, good working equipment, never any  shortcuts. No detail is overlooked, The best I've been on!"

I have only known Gary "Goose" Howell for eight years, but since that first chance meeting I have hunted with him or his associates nine times in four states as well as old Mexico. Like everything else, the outfitting industry has all types, I can honestly say that Goose and his network of Associates have proven time and time again they are some of the finest! I highly recommend his services and would welcome any questions.

I have known Goose for 30 years. We were both wild eyed kids with only a few points of focus. One common love was hunting. Years passed and life happened, which caused us to take our own directions. But as the circle came back around, Goose and I realigned. Hunting was the common bond.

Although having known Goose for years, I suspect neither of us knew how passionate about hunting the other was. Guiding together revealed that. Little was more important that “success” of our hunters. Heck, there was an unspoken competition between guides over who reached greater and more consistent success. Our clients became our friends and who better to strive for success for than your friends.

Goose and I will always be close, now more than when we were young. Hunting and guiding together sealed that friendship. We took many animals together and came up with just as many “true stories” to pass along around campfires. I will always treasure these memories.

Thanks Goose!!!

I archery elk hunted with Goose in 2002 in New Mexico.  The experience was incredible.  The advance scouting had us on bulls from day one!  Despite the extremely hot and dry weather, the experienced guides had us close on several high quality bulls, including a B&C monster.  The accommodations and meals were fantastic.  I would definitely hunt with Goose again!

Gary (GOOSE) Howell has become a very good friend and guide for me. I have been on over 3 hunts with him and have been a 100% on all three. Goose is the type of person that is not happy unless his client is happy and he will do he best to make you happy. I still submit each year for my tag’s with him in hope that come each fall we get to hunt together again. There’s no better the GOOSE.

I have known Gary "Goose" Howell for many years.  I have hunted and guided with Goose on many successful hunts.  He has always been very professional and a top-notch outfitter.  I don’t know anyone who works harder at seeing to your every need.  Last year I had the opportunity to help guide with Gary on a Hunt of a Lifetime, watching him interact and work so hard to help the boys have a 'successful' hunt was really awesome!  I would recommend HWO to anyone, you will be taken care of!

There is not a beast on this earth that I would not go to battle against with Goose, NOT EVEN CANCER.
Thank you for a Hunt of a Lifetime and thank you for being there for me as a friend in our battle with cancer."

Great hunting and fun equals Gary Howell!  I met Goose years ago on one of my hunts .He easily earned my respect as he provided all that he promised, and more. Goose was so special that the next summer my family and I vacationed in his town so they could meet him. I like to hunt seriously and have fun - so does Goose  and his guides.
Goose truly wants his hunters to have their definition of a successful hunt. He will tailor his hunt to your needs to achieve this.  Our entire family uses Howell Wildlife Outfitters Application Services and have successfully hunted with Goose multiple times.
Goose (the philosopher)  - once more from our family to yours a heartfelt thank you - you've made us better hunters and human beings . We look forward to more successful , fun ,hunts.

Goose,
I wanted to drop you a line and say thanks for arranging a great hunt. It was everything you said and then some. I told you of a previous hunt in Mexico with a different outfitter that was a nightmare. Your Gould's hunt was at the opposite end of the spectrum. It certainly exceeded all my expectations.
We were met at the airport by Enrique and two other guides. They helped us through the airport and we began our drive to the ranch. This was a great experience in itself. Once arriving at ranch we were greeted by Enrique Sr. and the ranch owner with the first of our many excellent meals prepared by Don Enrique. After dinner we were shown to our lodge where we showered and retired to our rooms to prepare for the much anticipated morning hunt and much needed sleep from our long journey from Mississippi. Upon awakening to the smell of coffee and breakfast being prepared by Don Enrique, we were briefed for our first mornings hunt. After a short drive to our respective blinds we were greeted with the sound of multiple "Gobbles!" that seemed to resonate from all directions before daylight. As day broke to reveal the mountains and the pines that you had described, it was truly a wonderful site. There was probably no less than ten gobblers and countless jakes and hens
roosted in the pines within earshot. As fly down began the excitement escalated as hens and jakes landed all around our blind. Finally the big boys show up but wisely stayed beyond a safe shooting distance. Once they had proved their dominance over the local jakes and gathered a small harem of willing hens, they corralled their prizes and made haste from sight. All the while they antagonized us with their retreating gobbles. What a show! Although the first morning we were not successful in tagging it was a wonderful hunt. Back at the camp we swapped stories and had lunch. After a nice lunch and a short siesta we were back on the hunt. Ken called in a nice three year old and tagged his first Gould's that afternoon. Enrique and I saw lots of birds but couldn't coerce one within range. After another wonderful dinner we retired to bed and prepared for our second morning hunt. Daylight found me celebrating my birthday in a new blind and the turkey gods were kind to me. I
tagged a nice three year old with a nine inch beard. Ken also tagged his second turkey, another three year old. After returning to camp for lunch and a siesta, Ken decided to fish and I tried to fill my second tag. Ken had a great time fishing that afternoon, he caught a bass on every other cast. I had several toms in range but was being more selective after the success of the morning. We again had a wonderful meal before retiring. The third day found Ken fishing After sleeping in late and found me back in a blind. We heard lots of birds and were fortunate in working a big tom into range after an hour of unbelievable strutting and drumming by four mature gobblers. That afternoon the ranch owner took us on a sightseeing adventure into the adjoining state. This was a real treat, we were able to see several small towns and villages. We slept in on the fourth day and enjoyed more catching because fishing wouldn't accurately describe it. Later that day we filled out all
the necessary paperwork to bring our turkey back in the US. We had our final dinner prepared and celebrated a great hunt with our new friends. The following morning we packed up and headed back to Hermosillo where we found a room near the airport. The last morning Enrique helped get us checked into the airport and we bid our friend goodbye. So thanks again for a truly wonderful Sonora Mexico Gould's turkey hunt. The lodge and the food was superb! Only outdone by our remarkable hosts both father and son Enrique.
Sincerely,
Thad Miller
